Second Stage Round 3: Victoria - COR Victoria 82-65

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Grodno where BrGU COR Victoria (8-20) was defeated by Victoria (6-22) 82-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Victoria. BrGU COR Victoria was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BrGU COR Victoria's 26. They outrebounded BrGU COR Victoria 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for center Iryna Hryhoryeva (193-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 9 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Mariya Fedorovich (180-0) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Victoria players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Aleksandra Chyzhevskaya (178-2) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Oksana Isaenko (173-1) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Victoria will face Gorizont II (#7) in Minsk in the next round.
