Regular Season Round 23: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Bourg 93-82

An interesting game took place in Pau where higher ranked JL Bourg (13-10) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (11-12) 93-82 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded JL Bourg 36-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for international point guard Elie-Franck Okobo (188-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. American forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. American Chase Simon (201-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: 3Eye) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Joseph Lewis (188-92, college: Louisville) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JL Bourg's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted JL Bourg dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JL Bourg will play against JDA Dijon and hope to win that game.
