Fifteenth-ranked Burgos (6-17) gave a tough game to fourth ranked FC Barcelona (16-7) on Sunday. The visitors from Barcelona managed to secure only two-point victory 103-101. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-19 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. FC Barcelona looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 assists. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Sebastian Saiz (206-94, college: Mississippi) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and center Javier Vega (205-88) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Burgos' coach Diego Epifanio tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. FC Barcelona have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Baskonia and Valencia. Burgos lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. FC Barcelona will meet Blusens Monbus (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Burgos will play against Movil Estudiantes (#13) in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
