An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Luxembourg. Third ranked Contern faced 4th placed Heffingen. Host Contern (10-15) defeated guests from Heffingen (5-20) 88-78. Contern made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Juwan Howard Jr. (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 7 rebounds. The former international swingman Rene Wolzfeld (194-91) helped adding 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Contern's coach Franck Meriguet used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Ryan Logan (201-94, college: Stonehill) responded with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Joel Thesen (185-88) scored 18 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Contern. They maintain third place with 10-15 record having five points less than leader Arantia. Heffingen lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 20 games lost. Contern will meet league's second-placed Residence in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heffingen will play against the league's leader Racing in Luxembourg and hope to secure a win.
