The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Broni's (8-13) road loss to sixth ranked Lucca (11-10) 62-80. Lucca dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Broni's 30. 26 personal fouls committed by Broni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ukrainian center Taisia Udodenko (190-89) nailed 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds. Five Lucca players scored in double figures. Lucca's coach Lorenzo Serventi used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Dutch forward Chatilla Van-Grinsven (190-91, college: St.Joseph's, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Ashley Ravelli (176-93, college: Robert Morris, agency: LBM Management) added 14 points respectively for Broni in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San Martino. Broni at the other side keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. Lucca's next round opponent will be higher ranked Napoli (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Broni will play against San Martino in San Martino di L and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
