Regular Season Round 23: GTK Gliwice - Stelmet 65-88
Date: March 18, 2018
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked GTK (10-15) was outscored by third ranked Stelmet Enea BC (17-7) in Gliwice 88-65 on Sunday. Stelmet Enea BC forced 20 GTK turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by GTK's players. The former international swingman Przemyslaw Zamojski (193-86, college: Independence CC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Stelmet Enea BC players scored in double figures. American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) answered with 20 points and the other American import center Maverick Morgan (208-94, college: Illinois) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for GTK. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 17-7 record having five points less than leader Anwil. Newly promoted GTK keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Stelmet Enea BC will face bottom-ranked Legia (#17) in Warszawa in the next round which should be another easy win for them. GTK will play on the road against the league's leader Anwil (#1) in Wloclawek and hope to win that game.
