Date: March 18, 2018
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Araski (10-14) beat 9th ranked Al-Qazeres (10-14) in Vitoria-Gasteiz 70-58. The game was mostly controlled by Araski. Al-Qazeres was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Araski won last quarter 25-14. The best player for the winners was swingman Marta Tudanca (182-90, agency: ProDep Management) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Cristina Molinuevo (179-96) chipped in 10 points. Araski's coach Madelen Urieta used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Brooque Williams (175-89, college: California, PA, agency: Two Points) who recorded 21 points and power forward Rita-Esther Montenegro (188-82, agency: ProDep Management) added 8 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Araski moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Al-Qazeres. Araski's next round opponent will be higher ranked AE Sedis (#7) in Seu D'urgell and it may be quite challenging game.
