Regular Season Round 45: Fukushima - Iwate Big Bulls 75-72

Sixth-ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-39) were very close to win a game against second ranked Fukushima (26-16). Fukushima managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Iwate Big Bulls were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) chipped in 14 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Tatsunori Fujie (184-87) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fukushima maintains second place with 26-16 record behind leader Akita NH. Iwate Big Bulls lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 39 games lost. Fukushima will play against Kanazawa Sam. (#3) in Ishikawa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Iwate Big Bulls will play on the road against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
