Rather predictable result in Tokyo where first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (36-8) beat 5th ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (22-22) 81-77 on Sunday. The former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) fired 26 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winners. The former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) produced 19 points and 6 rebounds and international point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 36-8 record. Hitachi Sunrockers lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with 22 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Niigata Albirex (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
