Very expected game when 9th ranked NPC Rieti (12-13) lost on the road to first ranked Novipiu Casale (19-6) 83-74 on Sunday. Novipiu Casale looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists. The former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-89) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: HMS) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Claudio Tommasini (197-91) added 15 points and 6 assists in the effort for NPC Rieti. Five Novipiu Casale and four NPC Rieti players scored in double figures. NPC Rieti's coach Luciano Nunzi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Novipiu Casale maintains first place in A2 with 19-6 record. Loser NPC Rieti dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Novipiu Casale will face Latina Basket (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NPC Rieti will play against Cuore Napoli and hope to win that game.
