There was no surprise when 15th ranked Perugia (5-21) was outleveled on the road by second ranked Recanati (18-8) 80-56 on Sunday. Recanati looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Giacomo Gurini (192-84) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Recanati's coach Piero Coen felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Umberto Meschini (188-94) replied with 23 points and guard Davide Marchini (185-95, agency: Players Group) added 12 points in the effort for Perugia. Recanati maintains second position in B with 18-8 record having five points less than leader San Severo, which they share with Piacenza. Loser Perugia keeps the fifteenth place with 21 games lost. Recanati will face Nardo (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Perugia will play against Fabriano (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
