Regular Season Round 28: Chiba Jets - Tochigi Brex 85-66

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Chiba. Second ranked Chiba Jets faced 4th ranked Tochigi Brex. Host Chiba Jets (32-12) smashed guests from Tochigi (24-20) 85-66. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tochigi Brex. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tochigi Brex's 36 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game, while Tochigi Brex only scored six points from the stripe. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Tochigi Brex was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The other American import power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) produced 4 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Chiba Jets maintains second position with 32-12 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the fourth place with 20 games lost. Chiba Jets will face San-en NeoPhoenix (#3) in Hamamatsu in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tochigi Brex will play at home against Toshiba Thunders and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
