Regular Season Round 23: Alghero - Bologna 45-67

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Bologna (17-4) smashed on the road 15th ranked Alghero (2-20) 67-45 on Sunday. Bologna dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 22. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Raelin DAlie (168-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 4 assists. Power forward Marta Meroni (185-93) helped adding 9 points and 7 rebounds. Bulgarian guard Veronika Djikova (179-90) responded with 9 points and 4 steals and center Alexandra Petrova (185-97) scored 7 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bologna maintains fourth place in A2 with 17-4 record. Loser Alghero keeps the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Bologna will face Savonese (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Alghero will play against Spezzina (#7) in La Spezia and hope to win that game.
