No shocking result in a game in Hod Hasharon where ninth ranked Bnei Hasharon (8-12) defeated bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (6-14) 79-75 on Monday. Maccabi Haifa was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Bnei Hasharon made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Maccabi Haifa outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 45-31 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Triche (193-91, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American-Panamanian point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 19 points and Puerto Rican point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-92, college: Miami, FL) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Maccabi Haifa's coach Offer Rahimi let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bnei Hasharon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Loser Maccabi Haifa stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will meet Maccabi Rishon (#8) in the next round. Maccabi Haifa will play against Galil Gilboa (#7) and hope to secure a win.
