Regular Season Round 23: Maccabi K/M - Hap.Haifa 84-75

There was a minor upset in Kiryat Motzkin where higher ranked Hap.Haifa (9-14) was defeated by twelfth ranked Maccabi K/M (9-14) 84-75 on Tuesday. Maccabi K/M forced 20 Hap.Haifa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Folarin Campbell (189-86, college: George Mason) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 4 assists. Guard Noam Matalon (197-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) helped adding 22 points. Maccabi K/M's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Niv Misgav (169-95) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Hap.Haifa players scored in double figures. Maccabi K/M moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Hap.Haifa. Maccabi K/M will meet higher ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hap.Haifa will play against Elitzur Yavne and hope to secure a win.
