Second Stage Round 4: Gorizont II - Victoria 57-75

Another exciting game was played in Minsk between sixth ranked Victoria and 7th ranked Gorizont II where Victoria (7-23) beat Gorizont II (6-24) on the road with 18-point difference 75-57. The game was mostly controlled by Victoria. Gorizont II was better in fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Victoria forced 23 Gorizont II turnovers. Gorizont II was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-1) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Center Mariya Fedorovich (180-0) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Aleksandra Petushkova (170-0) replied with 12 points and 4 assists and forward Irina Durmanova (172-1) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont II. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Victoria maintains sixth position with 7-23 record. Gorizont II at the other side stay dead last with 24 lost games. Victoria will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorizont II will play on the road against BrGU COR Victoria (#5) in Brest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
