Oviedo CB (#4) was upset in Castellon by eighth ranked Castello 83-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Oviedo CB. Castello forced 19 Oviedo CB turnovers and had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago center Kyle Rowley (212-90, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Eduard Gatell (205-89) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Center Jose-Maria Gonzalez (206-91, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Victor Perez (195-82) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Castello (15-14) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Oviedo CB keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Melilla. Castello will meet Ourense (#10) on the road in the next round. Oviedo CB will play against Palencia Baloncesto (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
