Regular Season Round 31: Pogon Prudnik - Siarka 81-70

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Pogon Prudnik (11-19) defeated at home 11th ranked Siarka (12-17) 81-70 on Wednesday. Pogon Prudnik shot 60.4 percent from the field. Pogon Prudnik outrebounded Siarka 36-17 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Tomasz Prostak (188-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) helped adding 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side Wiktor Sewiol (198-97, college: N.Platte CC) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Pogon Prudnik maintains thirteenth place with 11-19 record. Loser Siarka keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Pogon Prudnik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Siarka will play against Kotwica (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
