Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Ourense (12-15) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (18-10) 91-80 on Wednesday. Melilla Baloncesto made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Melilla Baloncesto looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of center Fran Guerra (214-92) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Daniel Rodriguez (182-84) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side American guard Reginald Johnson (191-94, college: Hampton, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and naturalized Venezuelan guard Jhornan Zamora (196-89) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Melilla Baloncesto moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oviedo. Loser Ourense dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Melilla Baloncesto will face Blancos de Rueda (#9) in Valladolid in the next round where they are favorite. Ourense will play at home against Castello and hope to win that game.
