Twelfth-ranked Aris (7-13) gave a tough game to sixth ranked PAOK (12-8) in Thessaloniki. The visitors managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Aris outrebounded PAOK 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. The former international Vasileios Charalampopoulos (205-97) saved the victory by scoring 16 points. American point guard Phil Goss (188-83, college: Drexel) contributed with 12 points for the winners. The former international point guard Giannis Athinaiou (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 18 points and the former international power forward Michalis Tsairelis (206-88) added 16 points in the effort for Aris. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. PAOK have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Promitheas. Aris lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. PAOK's next round opponent will be Koroivos (#12) at home and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against the league's leader Panathinaikos in Athens and hope to win that game.
