Regular Season Round 31: Pruszkow - Enea Astoria 85-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Pruszkow and 10th ranked Enea Astoria had identical 14-14 record. This time Pruszkow used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bydgoszcz 85-69 on Wednesday night. Pruszkow forced 20 Enea Astoria turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Damian Cechniak (208-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Mikolaj Stopierzynski (190-94) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side Mateusz Bierwagen (195-88, agency: Promotex) responded with 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Michal Aleksandrowicz (192-89) scored 12 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pruszkow (15-14) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Enea Astoria dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Biofarm PZN. Pruszkow will meet higher ranked Polfarmex (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enea Astoria will play against R8 Krakow (#5) and hope to secure a win.
