Regular Season Round 27: Keflavik - Haukar 90-70

Top ranked Haukar (20-7) recorded its seventh loss on the court of third ranked Keflavik on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Keflavik 90-70. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Haukar managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keflavik forced 20 Haukar turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) who had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. International forward Thelma Agustsdottir (179-98) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Two Points) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Keflavik have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion (19-8) moved-up to second place. Haukar at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Njardvik (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Haukar will play against Skallagrimur (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
