There was a minor upset when Eagles (0-2) were outscored by Hawks (1-2) in Floreat 84-56 on Friday. Hawks forced 21 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 53-37 including 22 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for Antonia Farnworth who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Emma Clarke (183-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Eryn Fisher answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Cameron Flynn added 16 points in the effort for Eagles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks will face Cougars (#4) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play on the road against Suns (#8) in Kalamunda and hope to get finally their first victory.
