Second Stage Round 2: Brest - RCOP Tsmoki 75-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Brest (7-31) was defeated at home by RCOP Tsmoki (6-32) 80-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brest won fourth quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. RCOP Tsmoki forced 21 Brest turnovers and outrebounded them 51-35 including 22 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Forward Vladislav Moroz (205-0) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Daniil Barysevich (191-1) supported him with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four RCOP Tsmoki players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by Kirill Vinokurov did not help to save the game for Brest. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) added 13 points for the hosts. Brest's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. RCOP Tsmoki's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Tsmoki II.
