Regular Season Round 24: Anwil - GTK Gliwice 95-88

PLK top team - Anwil (22-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat thirteenth ranked GTK (10-16) in Wloclawek 95-88. Anwil players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. GTK was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Croatian guard Ante Delas (200-88) who added 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) with 20 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard Jonathan Williams (190-95, college: Toledo) scored 18 points. Five Anwil and four GTK players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Anwil maintains first position with 22-4 record. Newly promoted GTK keeps the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Anwil will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GTK will play on the road against Twarde Pierniki (#3) in Torun and hopes to get back on the winning track.
