Cluj Napoca survived a tough test versus Alexandria for 1-0 lead. Alexandria cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. American forward Amanda Thompson (178-87, college: Oklahoma) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Bosnian center Aida Kalusic (189-87) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Nigerian guard Promise Amukamara (173-93, college: Arizona St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Alina Podar (169-97) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
