Regular Season Round 28: Marin - Ponferrada CDP 97-72

Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Ponferrada CDP (13-13) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked Marin (26-0) 97-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. Marin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. Marin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Ponferrada CDP's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Tre Hale-Edmerson (206-92, college: CS Northridge) who added 21 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Brazilian center Dida Pereira (203-92, college: Sequoias CC) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Marin have an impressive 26-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-B with 26-0 record. Loser Ponferrada CDP keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Marin will face Obradoiro II (#14) in Santiago de Comp in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ponferrada CDP will play at home against Leon (#4) and hope to win that game.
