Regular Season Round 28: Multiopticas Baza - San Juan 90-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Alicante where 7th ranked San Juan (9-14) was outplayed by eighth ranked Multiopticas Baza (8-14) 90-70 on Saturday. Multiopticas Baza dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to San Juan's 30 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Multiopticas Baza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard David Garcia (180-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 16 assists and Marcos Vigo who added 22 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Javi Rodriguez responded with 16 points and Alvaro Lopez scored 10 points and 4 assists. Five Multiopticas Baza and four San Juan players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Multiopticas Baza have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position in Group D-Permam with 8-14 record. Loser San Juan dropped to the sixth place with 14 games lost. Multiopticas Baza will face higher ranked San Fernando (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
