Second Stage Round 1: Kagoshima - Tokyo HT 82-95

Leader Tokyo HT delivered the twenty eighth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Kagoshima (14-20) 95-82 in Renova. They outrebounded Kagoshima 43-20 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tokyo HT especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Even 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by point guard Yasudo Yamada (179-98) did not help to save the game for Kagoshima. Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) added 9 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo HT (28-6) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Kagoshima lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 20 games lost.
