Regular Season Round 28: Azuqueca - Teguise 100-87

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Teguise (3-21) was defeated on the road by first ranked Azuqueca (21-3) 100-87 on Saturday. Azuqueca made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Teguise was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) who added 17 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Sean Harris (201, college: Utah St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Steve Coffey (183-87, college: Kutztown) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Four Azuqueca and five Teguise players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Azuqueca maintains first position in Group B with 21-3 record. Teguise lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 21 games lost. Azuqueca will face Villarrobledo (#4) on the road in the next round. Teguise will play against Quintanar (#11) and hope to win that game.
