Regular Season Round 28: Rotterdam - Amsterdam 65-67

Date: March 24, 2018
The most exciting game of round 28 in the Eredivisie took place in Rotterdam. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Rotterdam (13-12) to seventh ranked Amsterdam (7-18) 67-65 on Saturday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Rotterdam won second period 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Rotterdam helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Max Van-Schaik (210-91, agency: Court Side) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Jesse Markusse (206-92) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Belgian point guard Ordane Kanda-Kanyinda (186-96) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Robert Krabbendam (213-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Court Side) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Rotterdam's coach Armand Salomon rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Amsterdam moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Leeuwarden. Rotterdam lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. Amsterdam is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Weert (#9) at home in the next round. Rotterdam will play against Zwolle (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
