Second Stage Round 5: Castors Braine - Kangoeroes 82-70

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kangoeroes (1-1) on the court of leader Castors Braine on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Castors Braine 82-70. It was a key game for the top position in Division Women. Castors Braine made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Latvian center Anete Steinberga (190-90, college: UTEP, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American center Celeste Trahan-Davis (186-85, college: Elizabeth City, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. American-Cameroonian center Brittany Starling (183-94, college: USC Upstate, agency: ProDep Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international Jana Raman (185-91) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first place in Division Women with 2-0 record. Kangoeroes at the other side keep the third position with one game lost. Castors Braine are looking forward to face Tulikivi (#4) in Deerlijk in the next round. Kangoeroes will play on the road against the league's second-placed R.Spirou Monceau in Charleroi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
