The game between closely ranked teams ended with 13th ranked Karditsas' (7-16) home loss to twelfth ranked Papagou (10-13) 77-82. Papagou outrebounded Karditsas 48-32 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Karditsas was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Georgios Papapetrou (196-94, college: Franklin Pierce) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Konstantinos Zorzos (188-96) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Swingman Georgios Mavrogiannis (193-92) came up with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Sokratis Psaropoulos (191-92) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Karditsas in the defeat. Four Karditsas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Papagou moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ermis Agias. Karditsas lost their third game in a row. Karditsas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Papagou's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.
