An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Verona. Third ranked Alpo VF faced one of their biggest challengers Scrivia. Host Alpo VF (20-4) defeated guests from Scrivia (17-7) 51-38. Alpo VF held Scrivia to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Scrivia 45-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Elisa Mancinelli (175-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Elena Ramo (185-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (185-88) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Brazilian swingman Tayara Madonna (170-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Scrivia. Scrivia's coach Fabio Pozzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alpo VF maintains third position in A2 with 20-4 record behind leader Sesto SG. Scrivia at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Alpo VF will play against Marghera (#9) in Venezia in the next round where they are favorite. Scrivia will play on the road against Bolzano (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
