Regular Season Round 27: Sestu - Roma Tiber 68-99

Rather expected game when 13th ranked Sestu (8-19) was crushed at home by eleventh ranked Roma Tiber (11-15) 99-68 on Saturday. Roma Tiber made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. It was a great evening for Matteo Santucci (193-98, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Power forward Andrea Valentini (199-98, agency: SPORTlab Agency) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Roma Tiber's coach Marco Polidori felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international Manuel Vanuzzo (203-75) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Romeo Trionfo (197-85, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Roma Tiber and four Sestu players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Roma Tiber maintains eleventh place in B with 11-15 record. Sestu at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Roma Tiber's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Roma Palestrina.
