Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Cordobasket (9-14) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Medacbasket (15-8) 71-67 on Saturday. Medacbasket made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Deshawn Curtis (198-92, college: Cheyney) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward RJ McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Venezuelan forward Albert Arias (194-89) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arturo Lopez (188-92) scored 23 points and 4 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Medacbasket moved-up to third place in Group D-Clasif, which they share with Marbella. Cordobasket lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. Medacbasket will face ULB OH!TELS (#7) in La Linea in the next round. Cordobasket will play on the road against Almeria and hope to win that game.
