Regular Season Round 9: Reinas - Lobas 47-77

Leader Lobas delivered the eighth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Reinas (3-6) 77-47. Lobas dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Reinas' 30. Lobas forced 21 Reinas turnovers. American forward Carolee Dillard (188-94, college: UALR) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Andrea Medina (169-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lobas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Karen Luna with 15 points and the former international Annel Tapia (171-86) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lobas maintains first place with 8-1 record. Reinas lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Mexcaltecas. Lobas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ciudad de Mexico to the arena Gamos.
