Regular Season Round 27: Mgzavrebi - Cactus Tbilisi 91-77

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Mgzavrebi (#7) and Cactus Tbilisi (#4). Mgzavrebi (10-14) won against visiting Cactus Tbilisi (14-10) 91-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cactus Tbilisi. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-77. Mgzavrebi outrebounded Cactus Tbilisi 46-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import guard Taylor Stafford (185-94, college: W.Washington) chipped in 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) who recorded 22 points and Giorgi Turdzeladze added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi's coach Archil Jgenti tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mgzavrebi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 10-14 record. Loser Cactus Tbilisi keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Sokhumi.
