The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Chiba Jets' (34-12) home victory over 3rd placed San-en NeoPhoenix (22-24) 100-86 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Chiba Jets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian center Scott Morrison (213-86, college: Portland St., agency: Pensack Sports) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for San-en NeoPhoenix. Five San-en NeoPhoenix players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyota Alvark. San-en NeoPhoenix lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 24 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San-en NeoPhoenix will play on the road against Yokohama BC and hope to win that game.
