We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Poznan where 9th ranked Enea AZS P. (5-17) was defeated by tenth ranked TS Ostrovia (6-17) 71-59 on Saturday. TS Ostrovia forced 23 Enea AZS P. turnovers. Katarzyna Motyl (173-87, agency: Promotex) stepped up and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American center Breanna Lewis (196-94, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Jazmine Davis (170-93, college: Washington, agency: LBM Management) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Ukrainian forward Kateryna Rymarenko (187-90) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Enea AZS P.'s coach Krzysztof Dobrowolski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TS Ostrovia moved-up to ninth place, which they share with JAS FBG. Newly promoted Enea AZS P. dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. TS Ostrovia will meet at home higher ranked AZS UMCS (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Enea AZS P. will play against CCC Polkowice (#3) and hope to secure a win.
