Top ranked Gran Canaria (22-2) recorded its second loss in Las Palmas. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked CVCD Granada (8-16) 62-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gran Canaria. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 5-point deficit before their 24-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Gran Canaria outrebounded CVCD Granada 51-37 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Patricia Fernandez who led her team to a victory with 15 points. Isabel Pastor contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Sokhna Ndiaye replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Erica Covile (185, college: Temple) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. CVCD Granada moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Gran Canaria at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. CVCD Granada will play against league's second-placed Valencia at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gran Canaria will play against Picken Claret in Valencia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
