Regular Season Round 25: AE Sedis - Araski 80-61

Date: March 24, 2018
Rather expected game in Seu D'urgell where 10th ranked Araski (10-15) was crushed by seventh ranked AE Sedis (13-12) 80-61. The game was mostly controlled by AE Sedis. Araski was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Araski to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Araski 47-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Andrea Vilaro (182-93, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Caitlyn Ramirez (188-94, college: Troy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four AE Sedis players scored in double figures. American power forward Julie Forster (185-91, college: Albany) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Dutch guard Natalie Van-Den-Adel (185-90, college: Colorado St.) added 16 points in the effort for Araski. Araski's coach Madelen Urieta rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. AE Sedis moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Gernika and Gipuzkoa UPV. Araski at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. AE Sedis' next round opponent will be Gernika (#5) on the road. Araski will play against Sant Adria (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
