Regular Season Round 28: Haukar - Skallagrimur 87-82

An interesting game for Haukar (21-7) which hosted in Hafnarfjordur 4th ranked Skallagrimur (14-14). First ranked Haukar managed to get a 5-point victory 87-82. Skallagrimur was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 20-15 third quarter run of Haukar. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Skallagrimur outrebounded Haukar 61-40 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and American forward Whitney Frazier (180-92, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Two Points) who added 26 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Carmen Tyson-Thomas (180-91, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds and the former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Haukar maintains first position with 21-7 record. Skallagrimur at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Stjarnan.
