Regular Season Round 27: Valmontone - Salerno 72-73

Round 27 games were marked by very close results. The first upset was only one-point a home defeat of 5th ranked Valmontone (19-8) to fourth ranked Salerno (20-7) 73-72 in the game for the fourth place. Salerno dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Valmontone's 22. It was a great evening for power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Massimiliano Sanna (195-88) helped adding 22 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (208-82, agency: SPORTlab Agency) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Innocenzo Ferraro (200-82) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted Salerno maintains fourth place in B with 20-7 record. Valmontone at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Crema and Piacenza. Salerno are looking forward to face Sestu (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmontone will play against Roma Luiss (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
