An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Saitama. Third ranked Tokyo Excel. faced one of their biggest challengers Saitama Broncos. Guests from Tokyo (23-11) smashed host Saitama Broncos (20-14) 90-61. Tokyo Excel. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Saitama Broncos' 32. Tokyo Excel. had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Justin Herold (203-91, college: Sonoma St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) and guard Satoshi Miyata (180-78) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Ferrakohn Hall (203-90, college: Memphis) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Excel. have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 23-11 record having five points less than leader Tokyo HT. Saitama Broncos lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Tokyo Excel.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo HT.
