Date: March 25, 2018
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gunma. First ranked Akita Happinets faced second-ranked Gunma. Guests from Akita (42-4) smashed host Gunma (25-20) 76-57. Akita Happinets forced 27 Gunma turnovers. The best player for the winners was Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita Happinets have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. They maintain first place with 42-4 record. Loser Gunma keeps the second position with 20 games lost. Akita Happinets will face Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gunma will play against Tokyo Z (#6) and hope to win that game.
