A very interesting game took place in Belo Horizonte. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Universo/Vitoria (13-14) to tenth ranked Minas (12-13) 80-78 on Sunday evening. Minas players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Universo/Vitoria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Wesley Ferreira (201-95) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Evan Roquemore (190-92, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 18 points. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) produced 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Four Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Universo/Vitoria's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Minas moved-up to ninth place. Universo/Vitoria at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Minas' next round opponent will be SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota.
