Everything went according to plan when second ranked Recanati (19-8) beat on the road 11th ranked Nardo (13-14) 88-82 on Sunday. Recanati made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Nardo turnovers. Strangely Nardo outrebounded Recanati 35-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Nardo was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Giacomo Gurini (192-84) helped adding 16 points and 4 steals. Four Recanati players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Romanian forward Alin-Giani Zaharie (198-94) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Federico Ingrosso (190-94) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Recanati maintains second place in B with 19-8 record having five points less than leader San Severo, which they share with Crema and Piacenza. Newly promoted Nardo keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Recanati will face Matera (#5) at home in the next round. Nardo will play against Teramo (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
