Regular Season Round 24: Estudiantes - Burgos 100-76
Date: March 25, 2018
No shocking result in a game in Madrid where thirteenth ranked Movil Estudiantes (9-14) smashed 16th ranked Burgos (6-18) 100-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Movil Estudiantes. Burgos was better in third quarter 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Movil Estudiantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Israeli swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). American-Azerbaijani forward Niklas Caner-Medley (203-83, college: Maryland, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard John Jenkins (193-91, college: Vanderbilt, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Movil Estudiantes maintains thirteenth position with 9-14 record. Burgos lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 18 games lost. Movil Estudiantes will face higher ranked FC Barcelona (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Burgos will play against Blusens Monbus (#11) and hope to win that game.
