Regular Season Round 47: Yamagata - Shinshu BW 55-72

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Yamagata (20-26) against fifth ranked Shinshu BW (21-24) on Sunday night. Host Yamagata was defeated by Shinshu BW in Yamagata 72-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Yamagata. Shinshu BW players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Guard Furuhashi Hiroki (185-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) added 15 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shinshu BW maintains fifth place with 21-24 record. Yamagata at the other side keeps the third position with 26 games lost. Shinshu BW will play against league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamagata will play at home against the league's second-placed Fukushima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
